Node categories in this workflow

Icons describe general node roles, inferred from node types. Inspect the parameters for the configured action.
Drag to pan; use + and − to zoom. Reconstructed from the exported node positions; nothing runs here. Dashed lines represent non-main connections. Full node names and notes appear below.
How it works
The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.
| Node | Category | Type | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| On clicking 'execute' | Trigger | Manual Trigger | See node parameters |
| 12 Hours from now | Transform | Date Time | See node parameters |
| Set times | Transform | Edit Fields | See node parameters |
| Edit times | Transform | Edit Fields | See node parameters |
| Format - MMMM DD YY | Transform | Date Time | See node parameters |
Setup
- Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
- Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace
REPLACE_WITH_*values with your resource identifiers. - Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
- Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.
Requirements
An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.
Credential types declared in the source
None declared. HTTP requests and Code nodes may still need configuration.
Workflow notes
2. Advanced way: Using Expressions
2. Advanced way: Using Expressions
In this Set node, we set dates using Luxon expressions for the following formats:
Now - {{$now}}
Current time with seconds - {{$now.toLocaleString(DateTime.TIME_WITH_SECONDS)}}
Today - {{$today}}
Tomorrow - {{$today.plus({days: 1})}}
One hour ago - {{$now.minus({hours: 1})}}
Weekday name - {{$today.weekdayLong}}
1. Simple Way: Using the Date & Time node
1. Simple Way: Using the Date & Time node
There are two actions available within the Date & Time node:
- Calculating a date - adding/substracting minutes,hours, days, etc.
- Formatting a date
2.1 Working with an existing time string
2.1 Working with an existing time string
As items pass between nodes, n8n saves dates as ISO strings. This means that in order to work with the data as a date again, we need to convert it back using DateTime.fromISO('yyyy-mm-dd')
. Once doing that, we are able to apply date and time function again such as : {{DateTime.fromISO($json["Now"]).toFormat('yyyy LLL dd')}}

Purpose and structure
This folder contains the Click the Execute Workflow button and double click on the nodes to see the input and output items. workflow. Its executable nodes use dateTime, manualTrigger, set. The table and connection map below are derived from the JSON, not an inferred guarantee of behavior.
Setup
Import inactive. Configure your own credentials and replace REPLACE_WITH_* values. Review external destinations and Code nodes before running.
