How it works
The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.
| Node | Category | Type | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| On clicking 'execute' | Trigger | Manual Trigger | See node parameters |
| Create approval URL | Transform | Edit Fields | See node parameters |
| Wait for external approval | Wait | Wait | See node parameters |
| Rest of the workflow placeholder | Routing | No Op | See node parameters |
| Customer Datastore | Integration | N8N Training Customer Datastore | getAllPeople |
| SplitInBatches | Routing | Loop Over Items | See node parameters |
| Wait for time interval | Wait | Wait | See node parameters |
| If - Are we Finished? | Routing | If | See node parameters |
| Customer Messenger - Send URL to merchant | Integration | N8N Training Customer Messenger | See node parameters |
| Customer Messenger - Send message to client | Integration | N8N Training Customer Messenger | See node parameters |
Setup
- Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
- Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace
REPLACE_WITH_*values with your resource identifiers. - Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
- Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.
Requirements
An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.
Credential types declared in the source
None declared. HTTP requests and Code nodes may still need configuration.
Workflow notes
2. Wait for an external event
2. Wait for an external event
Use this operation when an external step is needed in order to continue with the rest of the workflow. For example - a workflow sends a purchase approval link to the merchant (using Gmail, Slack etc..) and waits for the merchant to click on it before continuing with the rest of the steps.
In this example, the Customer Messenger node mimics the email or messaging node.
1. Rate Limiting
1. Rate Limiting
Sometimes you need to slow down how often you are contacting a service.
In this example, Customer Datastore node simulates the big batches of requests coming at once, the SplitInBatches node handles each one individually in a loop, and the Wait node creates a 2 second delay between each message to a customer.

Purpose and structure
This folder contains the Click the Execute Workflow button and double click on the nodes to see the input and output items. workflow. Its executable nodes use if, manualTrigger, n8nTrainingCustomerDatastore, n8nTrainingCustomerMessenger, noOp, set, splitInBatches, wait. The table and connection map below are derived from the JSON, not an inferred guarantee of behavior.
Setup
Import inactive. Configure your own credentials and replace REPLACE_WITH_* values. Review external destinations and Code nodes before running.
