Parse DMARC reports
Configured with Compression, Date Time, Email Read Imap, Email Send, and additional nodes. Review the connections and setup before adapting this template.
Node categories in this workflow

Icons describe general node roles, inferred from node types. Inspect the parameters for the configured action.
Drag to pan; use + and − to zoom. Reconstructed from the exported node positions; nothing runs here. Dashed lines represent non-main connections. Full node names and notes appear below.
How it works
The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.
| Node | Category | Type | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email Trigger (IMAP) | Messaging | Email Read Imap | See node parameters |
| End date format | Transform | Date Time | formatDate |
| If multiple records to parse | Routing | If | See node parameters |
| Map fields for DB input and parse | Transform | Edit Fields | See node parameters |
| Begin format date | Transform | Date Time | formatDate |
| Input into database | Data store | My Sql | See node parameters |
| If issue with DKIM or SPF | Routing | If | See node parameters |
| Rename Keys | Transform | Rename Keys | See node parameters |
| Rename column for consistency | Transform | Edit Fields | See node parameters |
| Unzip File | Transform | Compression | See node parameters |
| Extract XML data | Transform | Extract From File | xml |
| Parse XML data to JSON | Transform | Xml | See node parameters |
| Split Out For Separate Entries | Transform | Split Out | See node parameters |
| Slack Post Message On Channel | Messaging | Slack | See node parameters |
| Send Error Notification Email | Messaging | Email Send | See node parameters |
Setup
- Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
- Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace
REPLACE_WITH_*values with your resource identifiers. - Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
- Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.
Requirements
An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.
Credential types declared in the source

Workflow notes
How it works
How it works
- monitor postmaster email for DKIM reprots
- unpack report and parse XML
- map and format fields for DB input
- input into database
- send notification on DKIM or SPF failure
Remember to set up
- email input mailbox
- notification channels
Preparation
Preparation
This line is responsible for taking data from email and parsing it into JSON understandable by n8n
Mapping
Mapping
This line is responsible for treating cases when XML has multiple info for domain. One DMARC report can contain more than one entries.
Last node is responsible for matching data with database structure
Date translate
Date translate
This line is responsible for translating date format into understandable by MySQL/MariaDB
In next node data is being input into MySQL/MariaDB
Notifications
Notifications
Last two nodes are responsible for sending notifications in case IF inside DMARC report is reported any issue with SPF or DKIM

Purpose and structure
This folder contains the Parse DMARC reports workflow. Its executable nodes use compression, dateTime, emailReadImap, emailSend, extractFromFile, if, mySql, renameKeys, set, slack, splitOut, xml. The table and connection map below are derived from the JSON, not an inferred guarantee of behavior.
Setup
Import inactive. Configure your own credentials and replace REPLACE_WITH_* values. Review external destinations and Code nodes before running.
Entry points
Inspect connections; no recognized trigger.
Verification
Sanitized source candidate; not runtime-tested. This overview is generated from node metadata. Read the folder README for the connection map, credential types, and license.
