Icons describe general node roles, inferred from node types. Inspect the parameters for the configured action.
Drag to pan; use + and − to zoom. Reconstructed from the exported node positions; nothing runs here. Dashed lines represent non-main connections. Full node names and notes appear below.
How it works
The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.
| Node | Category | Type | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| When clicking ‘Test workflow’ | Trigger | Manual Trigger | See node parameters |
| Structured Output Parser | Transform | Output Parser Structured | See node parameters |
| Photo URLs | Transform | Edit Fields | See node parameters |
| Photos To List | Transform | Split Out | See node parameters |
| Download Photos | Files / media | Google Drive | download |
| Resize For AI | Files / media | Edit Image | resize |
| Passport Photo Validator | AI & models | Chain LLM | See node parameters |
| Google Gemini Chat Model | AI & models | LM Chat Google Gemini | See node parameters |
Setup
- Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
- Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace
REPLACE_WITH_*values with your resource identifiers. - Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
- Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.
Requirements
An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.

In this demonstration, we'll import 5 different portraits to test our AI vision model. For convenience, we'll use Google Drive but feel free to swap this out for other sources such as other storage or by using webhooks.

Verifying if a photo is suitable for a passport photo is a great use-case for AI vision and to automate the process is an equally great use-case for using n8n. Here's we've pasted in the UK governments guidelines copied from gov.uk and have asked the AI to validate the incoming photos following those rules. A structured output parser is used to simplify the AI response which can be used to update a database or backend of your choosing.
Try It Out!
Try It Out!
This workflow takes a portrait and verifies if it makes for a valid passport photo. It achieves this by using an AI vision model following the UK government guidance.
OpenAI's vision model was found to perform well for understanding photographs and so is recommended for this type of workflow. However, any capable vision model should work.

Purpose and structure
This folder contains the photos to list and download google drive and resize edit image workflow. Its executable nodes use chainLlm, editImage, googleDrive, lmChatGoogleGemini, manualTrigger, outputParserStructured, set, splitOut. The table and connection map below are derived from the JSON, not an inferred guarantee of behavior.
Setup
Import inactive. Configure your own credentials and replace REPLACE_WITH_* values. Review external destinations and Code nodes before running.
