Icons describe general node roles, inferred from node types. Inspect the parameters for the configured action.

Drag to pan; use + and − to zoom. Reconstructed from the exported node positions; nothing runs here. Dashed lines represent non-main connections. Full node names and notes appear below.

How it works

The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.

Setup

  1. Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
  2. Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace REPLACE_WITH_* values with your resource identifiers.
  3. Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
  4. Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.

Requirements

An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.

Credential types declared in the source

Workflow notes

Receive Query from Parent Workflow

Receive Query from Parent Workflow

This node receives input from the AI Agent in the top level workflow where it passes just the Slack Message directly to this workflow.

Search Confluence

Search Confluence

The newly created prompt is then sent into Confluence's API as a search string.

To replace this with your own KB tool, find the Endpoint that allows search, and replace this HTTP Request node with your own HTTP Request or Built in n8n node and pass the search variable into the search input.

Respond to Parent Workflow with Confluence Results

The final output is then sent to the Parent workflow to be used in the final AI Agent API call to the LLM of your choice as part of the final output. Here is the prompt output:

"Title": "Title of content so AI Agent will know the name of the content"
"Link": "Link to URL of KB article. Great for giving back to user to self help"
"Content": Truncated output of content so that the large language model will have more context in it's final response.
When users request the password, make sure to send them the link above to reset it in markdown.
Enhance Query Resolution with the Knowledge Base Tool!

Enhance Query Resolution with the Knowledge Base Tool!

Our Knowledge Base Tool is crafted to seamlessly integrate into the IT Department Q&A Workflow, enhancing the IT support process by enabling sophisticated search and response capabilities via Slack.

Workflow Functionality:

  • Receive Queries: Directly accepts user queries from the main workflow, initiating a dynamic search process.
  • AI-Powered Query Transformation: Utilizes OpenAI's GPT-4 to refine user queries into searchable keywords that are most likely to retrieve relevant information from the Knowledge Base.
  • Confluence Integration: Executes searches within Confluence using the refined keywords to find the most applicable articles and information.
  • Deliver Accurate Responses: Gathers essential details from the Confluence results, including article titles, links, and summaries, preparing them to be sent back to the parent workflow for final user response.

Quick Setup Guide:

  • Ensure correct configurations are set for OpenAI and Confluence API integrations.
  • Customize query transformation logic as per your specific Knowledge Base structure to improve search accuracy.
