How it works

The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.

Setup

  1. Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
  2. Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace REPLACE_WITH_* values with your resource identifiers.
  3. Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
  4. Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.

Requirements

An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.

Credential types declared in the source

Workflow notes

Sticky Note

Automate the curation and sharing of trending GitHub discussions from Hacker News to Twitter and LinkedIn. This workflow leverages AI to generate engaging posts, streamlining your social media content creation and distribution.

Sticky Note1

I crawl Hacker News and extract Github links.

Sticky Note2

This is where the magic happens. I use the Github url extracted earlier and visit Github page to get more insights in the project being shared. Then I ask Chat GPT very nicely to help me get a Tweet and a LinkedIn post

Sticky Note3

One last magic trick, Send the generated Tweet and the post to the respective platforms.

Sticky Note4

Just pinging the owner that something is about to be posted and wait for 5 mins before final posting.

Sticky Note5

CHORE

Sticky Note6

Make sure we don't post the same content again.
